To resolve the situation where your Aspire One A110 or A150 powers up with a blank screen, you need to update the BIOS. Updating the BIOS will require an USB flash drive to store the BIOS information on during the update.
PRECAUTION
Make sure you download the correct BIOS for your specific product and use the following steps in the given order. Installing an incorrect BIOS update may cause serious damage to your computer system. Any failure due to incorrect use of these updates is at own risk. Our Customer Care representatives can guide you through the whole process in case of need.
SOLUTION
Follow these steps to prepare the USB flash drive:
  1. Visit the Drivers and Manuals section of Acer support website.
  2. Enter your Serial Number/SNID or search for your product by Model.
  3. Choose your Operating System from the drop down menu.
  4. Select the BIOS tab.
  5. Click the Download link for the file you want to download.
  6. Right-click the downloaded ZIP-file and then click Extract All Files. Double-click the folder that has the same name as the downloaded file.
  7. The folder will contain a file named 3310.fd. Right-click this file and select Rename. Enter as new filename zg5ia32.fd.
  8. Copy the files zg5ia32.fd and Flashit.exe to the USB flash drive.
