- Download your signed certificated from the UW Certificate Services tool. For details on this process see UW Certificate Services.
- Log in as an administrator
- From a command prompt or the run menu:
- To create the certificate in the local machine store (recommended):
- Type mmc
- On the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in. Click Certificates in the left pane, then click Add.
- Select Computer Account, then click Next.
- Select Local Computer, then click Finish.
- Click OK.
- To create the certificate in the logged on user's personal store:
- Type certmgr.msc
- To create the certificate in the local machine store (recommended):
- In the left pane expand Certificates (Local Computer), expand Personal, then click Certificates.
- On the Action menu, click All Tasks, then click Import.
- Click Next. On Windows Server 2012 this screen presents an option to "select" a certificate store, but the correct store is already selected, and you can't change it.
- Select the signed certificate you downloaded in Step 1. Click Next.
- Select Place all certificates in the following store. Under Certificate Store, make sure Personal is selected. Click Next.
- Verify the information on the screen and click Finish.
